Stiff upper lip ...

Long day again so no time to outside blip today. This is one of our patients who came in for an eye lift. No not kidding. He suffers from so much excess skin that the eyelids are rolling inwards and rub on the eye surface causing quite a bit of pain and recurrent infections. The photo captures quite well how much spare skin he has literally everywhere. For the non medical people the red tube is used to keep the airways open and admister the anaesthetic gas to keep the animal asleep. The little white roll is just keeping her mouth open to avoid any damage to the tube. Surgery was quite extensive but also very successful and he should be much more comfortable already.

Wieder mal ein langer Tag und keine Zeit draußen auf Blip Suche zu gehen. Dies hier ist einer unserer Patienten der für ein Augen lifting bei uns war. Nein kein Scherz. Er schlägt sich mit soviel überschüssiger Haut herum, daß seine Augenlider nach innen einrollen und damit auf der Augenoberfläche reiben und Schmerzen und wiederkehrende Infektionen verursachen. Das Foto fängt ganz gut ein wieviel Haut er wirklich überall zuviel hat. Für die Nicht-Medizier: der rote "Schlauch" hält die Atemwege offen und erlaubt es Anästhesie Gas zu verabreichen. Die kleine weiße Rolle ist nur dazu da, das Maul leicht offen zu halten, um den Tubus nicht zu beeinträchtigen. Die Operation war ganz schön umfangreich aber auch sehr erfolgreich und er sollte jetzt schon wesentlich besser und weniger schmerzvoll sein.
