Mountain + Spring + flowers = Glorious!

A stunningly beautiful spring afternoon on High Prairie. Bright yellow Balsam Root and dry grasses fill the foreground. Finally, a warm day filled with light that lasts late into the day. We are barely a month away from the Summer Solstice, and I am relishing the light! 

Today is the 37th anniversary of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. This volcano is part of the Cascade mountains that also includes Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood. From the top floor of our house we can see the tip of the remaining mountain.
