Rocky Mountain Moments

Abstract Thursday: Mystery....

My mystery image today is something in my house and it's straight out of the camera with a slow shutter and vertical motion.  Those are my clues :-)  Thanks, as always, to Ingeborg for hosting the challenge!

My extra is the weather map on the TV news this morning showing the projected snow totals by Saturday morning.  Yep, it's snowing all right - crazy late in the season for us down here.  I live right below Berthoud on the map, so we aren't supposed to have much accumulation even though it hasn't stopped snowing all day.  The mountains are on the left and plains on the right.  As you can see, the mountains are getting hammered!  I just heard on the news that Estes Park (home of Rocky Mountain National Park) already has 25 inches.  The snow down here is very wet and heavy and Pipersdad has been out several times to try to knock it off the trees so they won't break.  Luckily, we haven't planted any annuals yet but I think my poor Columbines are probably done.  At the Osprey nest down the road they are taking turns on their eggs (which could hatch any day now) and they are almost buried in the nest.  Here's a link to the nest cam.  Hard to believe the weather was so beautiful yesterday!
