Raiders of the Lost Icehouse

Back in September, the guys from Cullen, Deskford & Portknockie Heritage Group came to clean up and record the old icehouse. Today they came back to complete the job, and Alys and I had a great day working on it with them.

In September we stuck to the outside as the stone steps that spiral down the wall are precarious and broken in places. Today, with a ladder and an assortment of lights, we surveyed the inside. It's absolutely fascinating! We learned a lot about it, but we were also left with a few puzzles - so I can see a third visit coming up in the not too distant future! :)
