Ulm - old and new

We travelled on the motorway via Stuttgart  airport to Ulm.  It was quite a relief to be able to relax by the park and close to the river.  After the journey we were anxious to explore the old town where we were told there were houses dating back to 1400 on the city walls.  We took the very long route on foot, passing through some beautiful old parks, but we did eventually find them!  Considering we are staying in the middle of the city and only 300 yards from the nearest supermarket, it is incredibly quiet except for the sound of the birds in the trees.  The extra is a blend of an ancient tower put to modern use and a modern tower block behind!  I winder if it will last as long as the original tower .
