Alchemilla
The unopened flower buds of alchemilla seem to have a geometric structure of tiny unfolding plates which gives them rather an un-plantlike look. A bit like some forms of broccoli. The contrast with the softness of the leaves is very attractive, although you have to be looking pretty close up to see the buds properly (at least, if you're short-sighted...). In monochrome the effect is a little more abstract, but the subdued lime green colour is nice too, so I opted for the colour version.
As ever, this phase won't last long - it all changes endlessly.
