Wound up in Wexford

Home, and bed

We set off at 4.45 to drive to Dublin from the Burren - some 180 miles.  Then onto the 8.45 ferry to Holyhead, and finally home.  So from well to the west of Ireland, to almost as fat east in England.  In total we were actually driving for about 8 hours, plus several stops for comfort breaks and food.  We arrived home about 7pm.  We set off in darkness, but the day seemed to be shaping up to be lovely weather.  We drove home, especially through the Midlands and into Norfolk, through driving rain and lots of spray from the roads.  We were quite pleased, in one way, as our garden has been suffering, like so many others, from lack of water.  But as we headed east from Kings Lynn, the weather cleared up and we started to worry that our garden would have managed to avoid the rain.  I think our fears were unfounded.

No surprise that we were tired.  Our first job was to check the garden - most things seem to have survived OK.  We spent a bit of time opening post, and checking emails, whilst having a snack.  Then off to bed.  You only get to see my half of the bed because W was already collapsed on the other side, in a state of partial undress that you might find embarrassing!
