Don't tell the slugs and snails!

The butler says he knows a guy who made lots of money selling these; they were hostas to fortune. I know; terrible joke.

The slugs and snails will soon hear these leaves have opened and then ...... I'm trying grit around the hostas, hollyhocks and delphiniums this year; any chance I'll see them flower? Also bought larger plants, but they look a bit nibbled already.
