Rain

It is said that W C Field's favourite sound was that of falling rain.  Today, after weeks of drought, I'm with him all the way.

..... Mind you, it'll make the weeds grow too :-/

Work until after lunch.  Home to cook tea for good friend Kit Strange and her partner Steve who were visiting prior to her giving a talk to Norfolk AGS.  Danish born Kit came to London in her late teens with no fixed plan.  After a time spent as a motor cycle courier she enrolled on a horticultural course with the local college, "because a friend was doing it."  She moved on to train at Wisley and now works in the alpine dept at Kew, travels the world to learn about plants and is an enthusiastic and brilliant communicator of all she has learnt.  Perhaps the most telling comment over tea was from Steve, "she'll talk to anyone."  A one off, it's a privilege to call her a friend.
