The Mossy Tree Beaver

Extremely rare around these parts I can tell you!
I was really lucky to spot it while out walking PD this morning.
Maybe it was because I was out a bit earlier than usual as SWMBO took the monsters to school on their bikes (first time this year!)

How does the subject 'Fence Posts' sound as a new project?

I was wanting to get a dandelion clock carpet on an embankment next to the station this morning whilst backlit.
The wind and rain had stripped it bare near enough!
So I had to make do with a couple of individual heads.......... not brilliant, but I quite liked them.
When I got home there was one pathetic specimen at the end of the path - a real runt if ever there was one ........... so I picked it and set it up in my studio on the old computer desk in the spare room and attacked it using the macro lens.
I think I preferred the ones taken at the station.

After dropping Squirrel off at gymnastics, PD and I went along the old road (the one that had been scraped clear of all vegetation for some reason). Still no clue as to why it has been cleared, but I found that the old boots are still hanging in the tree.

This evening at the camera club it was the Image Of The Year competition.
The top marked images from throughout the year are judged in a series of knock-out rounds by the members rather than leaving it to one judge.
You forget just how many excellent images there are submitted throughout the year and there were some really, REALLY hard choices to be made during the course of the evening.
I am very chuffed to say that I won the advanced section with two others getting to the semi-final stage.
THIS was the winner.
