Eliminated

Every year Edinburgh runs a school football tournament.  The first round sees just about every primary school from the city playing games in qualifying groups. Normally, we get knocked out at this phase.  This year was different: A's school team exceeded all expectations by topping their group and making it into the second round, which was played this evening.

Today they got a bit of a reality check. Lost three, drew one. Didn't score a single goal. But they tried hard and played well at times. Just a big step up in quality of opposition.  Weirdly, the game they drew 0-0 was against the team that qualified for the semi-finals.  

However, to even make it this far was quite an achievement.  We applauded them off the pitch at the end.  They (mostly) played with a smile on their face, and a great attitude.
