The Best of British

Now, if this photo doesn't depress you, then I'm guessing you don't live in England. Not my usual capture of beauty, though even here, many would see beauty - rain to water the earth, safe and smooth roads, wealth enough to travel by car...

Spent a good part of the day on motorways, crawling along in the rain. But grateful to be dry in a reliable car (our daughter's) being driven by a good driver (Mike) and even listening to the wonderful Radio 4. Good finishing meetings, good debriefing, and then fish/kebab and chips (and mushy peas - yum!) with all the family bar the youngest, still on the ward in Manchester.

Feeling even worse than yesterday, and hoping for a good night, however many painkillers I need to take... so this grey photo is appropriate, I guess.
