Family Shop

Took this on my way to MD&M. I seem to be always Blipping shops but never these.The one on the left was sold about 2 years ago when the Baker Peter Finlay finally retired.His brother Mike still owns the decorators next door.I think it's possibly the oldest family run shop in town.Their Dad owned Finlays and when Mr Carter retired he brought the shop.Peter was apprenticed to Mr C.  I worked there until my retirement 14 years ago..When I left school at 15 I only ever wanted to work in a shop.Many might think it's a dead end job for numb skulls.Not so. I loved every minute of it.We had lovely customers from all walks of life and the banter was what made the job special.The pay wasn't all that good but money isn't everything and I am grateful to have good health so that when I retired I took off on a camping trip around the whole of Australia.Since then I've trekked in Nepal and other Countries.My cup runneth over ;)
