The Hermitage

Went to The Hermitage near Dunkeld to watch the salmon leaping up the Falls of Braan - saw quite a few but not quick enough on my shutter to capture one! This picture shows the river after it has crashed down the waterfall into the Black Pool, so named because as the waters calm down after thundering through the falls, their peaty content makes them look black. The Hermitage really is the most stunning place and one of my favourite spots. The giant fir trees are truly awe inspiring and the waterfall in full flow is quite spectacular.
