White-Cheeked Honeyeater
This morning I checked out the newly widened and improved fire trail behind my place, which for years has been seriously overgrown and degraded. It was a lovely sunny morning and small birds were flitting everywhere. Most were too fast for me to get a usable photo but this little fellow rested just long enough for me to capture something that wasn't just totally blurry. I took loads of photos, some of which I might blip over the next few days, and it was a relief to see what a good job NPWS have done with improving the fire trail, especially after the bush fire we had here in July two years ago (winter here and not usually bush fire time). They've put in a couple of good sized parking spots for fire engines to sit (and turn) in the event of a fire and even cut a couple of brand new fire trails which I'll explore further another day.
