Golden buttons

Down the garden the Tansy has spread around a bit, it has fern like leaves and these bright yellow flowers.

It was used as a medicinal plant for several things in the past though it can be highly toxic.

One was as a face wash to lighten & purify the skin.
It's perfume is described as a like camphor with a hint of rosemay & was also widely used as an insect repellant (doesn't seem to be working on the little moth though) it was made into an oil & used to deter mosquitos.

When used as companion planting with potatoes was said to reduce Colarado beetle attacks.

All in all a very useful plant.
