Standing Tall

After yesterday's deluge most of the flowers in the garden were looking more than a little bedraggled. The exception was this lovely purple pompom-like flower (if I new the name I'd use it) which was standing tall, two feet tall to be precise, and very worthy of a blip.

Spent the day at Ash Landing volunteering with the NT South Lakes Conservation Group. We were clearing overgrown undergrowth and overhanging branches from around the paths. Got to use a great tool for slashing the brambles with.

Later I took my new bike for its inaugural ride to Cark and back -  a distance of about 10 miles. Mr B is very pleased as he now knows we can cycle to the Engine Inn at Cark and back in an evening now that it is light until quite late.
