The Shard

Western Europe's tallest building standing 309.7 metres tall,  the Shard is named after a shard of glass.  It towers above its neighbours and at the top is a bar serving champagne and wonderful views on a clear day/night.
The building was designed by Renzo Piano; it is reputed that he turned down £3 million to design and said he would rather have flat in the building instead, he had the penthouse flat and lived in it for a year before selling it for £14million!
