A Study In Betrayal

Munni was at the vet today.  According to the vet she had to have an x-ray to see if there was any underlying problems with her teeth.  This meant she had to have a general anaesthetic, which in turn meant she wasn't allowed anything to eat for 12 hours before her treatment.

Munni is not used to having no food available.  And she kept asking where the food was.  Pointedly going to where the bowls with food normally were and miaowing.

It can't have been a fun morning for anyone.

She was taken in by the vet and they x-rayed her and cleaned all her teeth (her breath stills smells like cat food).  And G picked her up around 4.

If you've met Munni, you'd know she was a very talkative cat.  Doubly so when she's in her basket.  So it was odd that she didn't make a sound until they were half way home in the car.  The way G described it was a wail, a wail of sorrow and sadness and bewilderment.

She's still suffering from after-effects of the anaesthetic.  She can jump a bit but she doesn't have the power to make any of her usual jumps and she can't make any landings.  She just sort of ploughs into things.

Our wooden floors are not making it any easier for her.  She needs a bit of friction othewise there's skidding and a sudden heap of Munni.

I have to go.  She's just walked over to my desk, headbutted my hand and fallen over.  Excuse me, I have a cat to schmuse.
