Allium

The very first florets of allium christophii (I think, but I'm not 100% certain). The buds behind almost look like some sort of undersea creature - they have a slight translucency that seems to suggest that. Or perhaps it's the green/mauve combination.

The background is about as out of focus as I can get it with the LX3 whilst keeping reasonable focus on the flowerhead.  It's an old camera now, but still great fun to use.
