The West End
A quick shot, having just vacated Mathers with young Jack; we were in for a consolatory, post-tenpin defeat pint (and to catch the second half of the footie). Had an interesting chat with a Romanian guy sitting next to me. I think he's been working laying cables and is now heading back to Romania by bus. Of course, given that he only had a few words of English and that we couldn't find another common language - I don't speak Italian, he didn't speak German - it may well be that he's just arrived by bus and is looking for cable-laying work! I'm pretty sure though that he has a horse, two dogs and goes hunting - a touch of charades there! And that he supports Petrolul Ploiești. Oh and he kept telling me that Romania was 'kaput'.
