Farewell Sanibel
Saturday
This morning we set off on the long road home. The causeway to Sanibel actually consists of three bridges, with small man-made islands with beaches in between, so the top picture is looking back to Sanibel along the low middle section, while the bottom picture shows one of the beaches on the artificial islands, and looks across to Fort Myers on the mainland showing the final high section of the bridge. As we drove north, the clouds thickened, and just north of Tampa, we ran into quite an extensive storm system, with torrential rain. Once we were through that, conditions gradually improved again. Though we had a couple more spells of rain - they weren't as heavy or prolonged. We had no significant hold-ups, and finally reached our overnight stop, near Chattanooga, Tennessee around 11 pm.
