Afternoon tea ...

A belated birthday treat today, booked by my wonderful daughter, was this fabulous afternoon tea in a posh hotel. The yummy sandwiches came on suspended serving trays, the delicate pastries were divine, and the scones with three kinds of jam and lush clotted cream were scrumptious. I had coffee served in a 'French presser', a kind of upmarket cafetière. The only downside of it all was the effect on my waistline!
