Pevensay Church

Last day in Pevensay, after a brilliant weekend trip.
These three simple crosses carved to the door frame to the church which was built around 1200-1216 were carved by three knights who made these marks before leaving for the crusades. However, only one returned to complete the top cross on his return.
I believe the knight is also buried in the church there is a very old grave marker within the church which is said to be the crusader.
