Diary of an Edinburgher

Rufus visits

I surpassed myself by doing 30 minutes on the bike, at level 15. Mind you, it took me much longer than half an hour - I had to keep stopping. I worked up a bit of a sweat wee glow for the first time. I was watching a programme about the A1 and the traffic police sorting out crashes and checking trucks. Riveting. So that kept my mind off the pain. I also did 10 minutes on the crosstrainer.

Rufus came to stay for the afternoon while his mum went out galavanting. Rufus doesn't like it when his mum deserts him, so he cried. Though not ALL the time. Archie escaped with Kirsten (in between exams, three down, three to go) for a while, but JR and I just turned up the volume on our respective audio books (I jest - he just cries quietly). I had an Almond Magnum so that I didn't fall asleep.

We need to get Rufus used to staying with us, as his mum is going to be looking after Archie for two of our holidays.

Christine came back from her galavanting bearing cake that she couldn't finish from her posh afternoon tea. We had a G&T and organised the next foodie outing (this week).

We're now getting crows jackdaws, blackbirds, starlings and magpies at the bird feeder, as well as the wee tiddlers. I wish I'd had a camera at the ready to snap the pigeon sitting on the anti-pigeon spike, bending it. Those spikes were a really good buy!
