This is our new kettle, the De’Longhi Avvolta.
Avvolta means wrapped and you can see how the name reflects the design.
As you know, many items now come enabled with Internet ability.
You can take the frozen peas out of the freezer; swipe the barcode on the kitchen barcode reader and more peas will be delivered by drone before you can say Captain Birdseye.
I considered buying a kettle with the ability to command a boiling via an app on my phone but rejected it.
In view of what has happened to the world’s computers in recent days, the full horror of having my kettle hacked and held to ransom by unknown and unscrupulous knaves has been avoided.
My morning pot of Earl Grey tea is safe.
