Storytelling

This is the view from my current patrol site.  I took it as an urban shot for A Year With My Camera's Make 30 Photos challenge.  Then it occurred to me that it would fit in nicely with the Mono Monday storytelling theme.

"A wet Monday morning. Louise dragged her bleary-eyed twins across the road in the direction of the school.  The noise from the playground was deafening.  It must be nearly nine o'clock.  Perfunctory kisses at the gate and the girls sped off in the direction of their friends.

Louise hung around a little.  She knew she shouldn't.  The walk to work would take her at least ten minutes and Mr Cartwright liked his staff to be on time.  But maybe Martin was running late too and would appear in front of her.  They could walk down the road together and she would apologise for the text message.  They would laugh and it would be just like it was before.

But no Martin, and the lollipop lady was coming off duty.  Now she really was late.  She wrapped her jacket tight against the biting wind and hurried down the road."
