Starling antics.

No rain and just a light shower during the night.
Another glorious day.
Some of it spent pottering in the garden while Mr C watched rugby on TV.

For a while I just sat watching the birds.
Tried taking photos, but they flew off as soon as I got the camera focused. So these shots were taken through the kitchen window.

The young starlings just sat with their mouths open all the time! Mum/dad certainly kept busy.

I made a Swiss roll in the new oven this afternoon. It is so much hotter than my old one it only took 3 /4 mins instead of 7/8.
It was OK but didn't rise quite as much as usual.
I will have to cook it at a lower temperature next time.
It's like learning everything anew, but so far so good.

I am sorry I seem to be getting a bit behind with comments lately. Always so much to do in summer.
Will try and catch up later this week.
