Vernal Falls and the Merced River

The rapidly melting winter snows make for the fullest waterfalls in years. The Merced River descends from 6000’ to 4000’ in about two miles over two major waterfalls — Nevada and Vernal Falls. This is the view of Vernal from the footbridge over the river. I have never seen the water so high going under the bridge.
