Butler's Wharf
This morning Steve Oldfield, Helen Trust, Terry Mahoney and I met up to visit the Wex Lens Show in London. I was very restrained, only purchasing a Little Stopper for my mirrorless camera and some lens caps! (Not like me at all!!) ;-) Lovely to bump into Keith Knight and Patricia and Dave Terry at the show.
In the afternoon we headed down to the South Bank with our cameras. This is a shot of Butler's Wharf, just east of Tower Bridge in London; built between 1871 and 1873 as a shipping wharf and warehouse complex. It's reported to have housed the largest teahouse in the world. However, during the 20th century many of the warehouses in the area fell into disuse. Today the building has been transformed into luxury flats with shops and restaurants on the ground floor.
We ended the day with dinner at Strada in St Katherine's Dock. A lovely day out, great company and lots of fun.
