Buddha Point

This morning we did a few things in Thimphu before heading off for the workshop venue at Lobesa, about three hours drive away. We met with the Vice Chancellor and senior members of his office, then we went to visit this huge new statue which is being constructed on the hill above Thimphu. At 51 meters high, it will be the tallest Buddha statue in the world. Beneath it lies a complex of temples and meeting rooms. Very ornate in its craftsmanship.
