A Nice Round Number

I usually forget to watch the odometer reach those "milestones", but today I was driving the Jetta home after an oil change, and when I saw the little sticker telling me when the next change was due, I realized the mileage must have been somewhere around this number.

We live about four miles from town, and we don't make very many long car trips, so it will be a long time before we reach the next big number -- if ever. I'm sure the car is capable of it. We bought it new in 2003, we keep it inside, and have it serviced at the recommended intervals. The engine is a slow-revving diesel -- it rarely gets above 2000 rpm running around town. The fuel economy is good, and the seats are comfortable for both of us.

I think we'll hang onto the old girl for a few more years at least.
