Flower Friday - In Sorrento

Thanks to everyone who wished us well yesterday for our little holiday in Sorrento. After a seriously "red-eye" start to the morning the journey went well and we checked into our lovely hotel by lunchtime. The hotel we chose is up on the hillside about a mile from the town centre, nicely away from the noise and the traffic and yet near enough to walk easily there and back. The rooms are good and the grounds are super, even having hammocks slung between trees in the olive grove. Idyllic!

We passed some rather unusual (to us, anyway) flowers by the path as we walked down into town so I thought they'd do well for Flower Friday, hosted by BikerBear - who needs our love and support at the moment.. I used a wide aperture as you can see, to blur the town and the bay - however it's been a sunny but hazy day so the views haven't yet been at their best.

Many of the shops in the Old Town sell Limoncello, which we believe comes mainly from this part of the world (the fresh lemons in the shops are enormous!). You can see such a shop in the extra.
