Blooming Redbud tree

The weather is just right for this early blooming Redbud (Cercis) tree. I think it is also known as the Judas but not sure why.
The best it has ever done in 6 years. The cold/freezing nights and warmer days are perfect for ll the blooming trees this spring. Loads of flowering crabapples, apples, dogwood, and so forth. They make for a pretty spring.
