Wild Wednesday: Waterfalls

After the second long day of this work retreat, three of us drove the 20 minutes to Silver Falls State Park. We hiked a loop to see a few of the 10 waterfalls in this park, and hiked behind a couple of them. It was delightful to get out in this stunning environment and move around after two days of mostly sitting. As it was a weekday, and around dinner time, there were very people around.

Silver Falls is considered the crown jewel of Oregon's State Parks System, and "is the largest state park in Oregon with an area of more than 9,000 acres (36 km2), and it includes more than 24 miles (39 km) of walking trails....Its 8.7-mile (14.0 km) Canyon Trail/Trail of Ten Falls runs along the banks of Silver Creek and by ten waterfalls, from which the park received its name. Four of the ten falls have an amphitheater-like surrounding that allows the trail to pass behind the flow of the falls." (wikipedia)

The extra is the tiny blossoms of Solomon's Seal we saw on our hike; they hang from the underside of the leaves.

One more day of training and then home!
