2017 Tuesday -- Lapel Pin

For the first time, I wore my brand new 25 year lapel pin today. It was given to me at the celebration luncheon last Thursday. Next month I'll complete 26 years at the college. It all feels quite surreal.

Several years ago during commencement, my good friend and former office partner was sitting next to me and looking at the slogan on the banner, which is also now on my lapel pin, he commented, "I wonder where all the followers go to school. There must be a good school somewhere that educates them."  He has a seriously dry humor and is tremendously funny. We were both hired the same year. He retired two years ago. I miss him, but I know that he does not miss working and could careless about getting one of these pins.
