Sigiriya Rock

So an ancient King (or a group of monks, archaeologists can't seem to agree) decided to build a complete palace (or monastery) including a bathing pool on top of a massive rock with four sheer faces! What is certain, however, is that after climbing it yesterday using metal stairs installed much more recently I have absolutely no idea how they did it!
