Rannerdale Blubells
We went out to Crummock Water today to take Bro-in-Law, kanyl, across the fields to see the Rannerdale Bluebells. He and his late wife had wanted to see them but her poor health had meant they couldn't even consider trying when they realised how far from the road they must be.
The sun shone today and individually, the bluebells were in peak condition but I didn't think they were as dense or as far spreading as they had been in previous years. The scent, however, was gorgeous!
After the treat of seeing the bluebells our next treat was calling in the form of an ice-cream followed by a latte in Buttermere!
My slow cooker had been on all afternoon cooking us a nice herby sausage tea. Good to come home to.
