If you have an Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest the chances are good that a fire engine will appear at your door.

The Fire and Rescue Service is being trained in rapid response and early resuscitation until the paramedics can get there.

The Officer is telling us that in the Borders the success rate (measured by those eventually discharged home from hospital) has risen from 4% to 29%!
