Seeing red

Well - maybe not quite that angry, but I do find myself getting a bit angsty when people in the spotlight are caught doing things they shouldn't be doing and then proclaiming they're sorry.

Sorry for......getting caught?  

I'm cynical I guess.  If they were sorry about their actions then they would have worked to change them or ensure they didn't repeat them.  But when the 'I'm sorry' comes only after they're rumbled, the cynical me suggests that what they're actually sorry about is getting caught.
