Day 3 - Animal Kingdom
We set an alarm for 6:30 so we could be up and out early today. In the event we both were awake around 5:30. Went for an early breakfast at Ponderosa, for was as it is just a 5 minute walk. Some shopping in the store next door, for granddaughters and back to hotel to pack up for the day.
We had decided to take the hotel shuttle bus to Disney as its free. It arrived at 9:30 already three quarters full. A young man made us feel old by offering his seat to Mr L, while I squeezed onto a bench. Unbelievably we had another hotel to pick up from. People were packed in standing all along the aisles. We hadn't realised that the shuttle dropped at Epcot and we then had to wait for Disney transport to AK. At least 40 minutes and a very long line later, a bus arrived. We didn't get in to AK until gone midday.
Tickets sorted, memory maker applied and fast pass app linked to the other app we set off to Africa. The safari did not disappoint and I got a few decent photos. I was lucky enough to get this one with both elephants and flamingos in shot while the safari jeep rattle along bumpily! Another drenching in a river rapids ride, the wait for which was 60 minutes. At this point I forced myself to work out the fast pass thing and booked the Everest ride (scary) and Lion King show.
We are loving it, but the heat is very tiring and we are not able to see as much as we would if it was a little cooler. Mid 90s today, water is hot within an hour and bottles are sold at $3 each. the Lion King, Circle of Life show was Disney at its best! I videos some of it and took a couple of photos on the phone but not had time to look at them yet.
We decided to not try and marry up Disney transport with shuttle pick up times to get back, choosing instead to Uber it home. I am an uber convert, so easy and cheap.
After last night's expensive meal we chose to just go to TGI Fridays tonight. I love that Jack Daniels sauce, and refusing to pay $15 for a small glass of wine I enjoyed a peach and mango slushy drink thing!
Mr L struggling with his legs, says they have seized up, so hoping they have loosened after a night's sleep as Epcot is the itinerary for tomorrow.
