Alchemilla Vulgaris

I was shattered when I got home and only had enough energy to go as far as the garden. So I took a pic of Lady's Mantle. Apparently it is a herb and the leaves are efficient at collecting dew. Alchemists used to believe that dewdrops gathered from it had magical powers that would help them in their quest for the philosopher's stone. Another belief is that the dew collected from it will beautify anyone who uses it on their face.

Mmmmmm well it would take a lot to help me and sadly it was rain and not dew.

Jennifer called round from next door as she wanted to know what my blip for today was....I said I'd taken a pic of 'the green leaves that hold dew'. Ah yes she said...Lady's Mantle or if you prefer Alchemilla Vulgaris. You learn something new every day!!
