Green Heron

It was a beautiful morning to explore a new birding location in Virginia.  It was worth the drive.  Osuzanna and I went to Huntley Meadows Park.  It is unlike other wildlife areas we've visited in the area because it has a long boardwalk only a few inches above the wetland.  We weren't the only photographers there with long lenses, so we knew we were in the right place.  This is a Green Heron hunting for food.  In my extra shot he's resting on a branch, after fluffing his feathers.
Thank you so much for visiting my hawk and snake shot yesterday.  I was so lucky to be there at the right moment.  I really appreciate the comments, stars and hearts.  You made my day.
