Monomonday - Intent: Going To Work

I knew that, while we were in Venice, I wanted to capture a shot of empty gondolas on the Riva deli Schiavoni, having seen some excellent examples on Blipfoto and elsewhere.

I was lucky enough to find this group of gondoliers preparing their craft for the day's work and even luckier that there was a moody mist still clinging to San Georgios across the lagoon.

Not sure if the chap on the right is giving me a look but, if so, it's definitely not oblique.

We had a marvellous day walking around the San Marco, Rialto and Castello areas, capturing the main sights and stopping every so often for food and drink in various squares, people watching and resting our feet.

Venice must be one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
