The view from my window

After my emergency  blip of an uninspiring window view from my hotel on Friday, I am showing you a view of our garden froom the upstairs lounge. I took this as the sun faded, leaving a lovely saturated effect in the colours.

You can see one of our apple trees in the background. The border in the front is coloured by the photinia (at the left). Spiraea Bridal Wreath, my favourite, has finished flowering and needs to be pruned, but the berberis behind it is just coming into flower now.

The birds were mooching around and some were singing.

This morning, we had the wash-up meeting for the walking festival. Everyone agreed that is has been a first-rate event. We sorted out thank you letters and payments.  Brian has decided to stand down as company chairman earlier than planned and I'm taking on the role now. Succession planning is high on the agenda.
