Shemaron
The weather was starting to close in when our weekend visitors arrived today. We decided to make the most of the warm misty conditions and go out fishing as the forecast wasn't good for the rest of the weekend. The weather was as strange as I have seen it in a long time. How can it rain lightly for several hours with the sun still breaking through the clouds?
Anyway it led to good fishing conditions at high tide and we got several Mackerel which were later frozen for our guests to take home. I think we have eaten enough of them for one summer! Also spotted 6 or 7 dolphins off the Point that were clearly in feeding mode, although they came within 20 foot of the boat at one point. A couple of quick blips were taken, which is not easy when you are trying to control the boat and help land fish at the same time, but they were poor and later deleted.
On the way out we passed the Shemaron, an old Carradale ring net fishing boat, which was sitting in the middle of the bay with a former owner visiting it from his own small boat. Thought it looked quite good against the misty hills and sun sparkling on the sea!
