May Day Celebration

Here comes the sun!   Went to a very interesting festival in Minneapolis today.  This is a pageant called The Festival of Life which depicts the return of spring after our long winter.  These large puppets and many people are waiting for the sun to arrive on a boat from across the lake.  When the sun reaches the shore a large tree puppet rises from sleep on the ground.  It was beautiful to see.  The whole crowd then sang "You are My Sunshine".   The festival included a parade, food, entertainment and the best people watching ever.  Lots of crazy costumes and hats and such.  A fun day with the most perfect weather possible.
