for Organised Chaos

This is the entrance to one of my hives.  I like to ensure that the entrance for the bees is kept relatively small.  This is to ensure that bees from other hives, intent on stealing honey, are not allowed in.

At the entrance there are guard bees on duty who check  that only bees from their own colony can enter.  There has been a real honey flow here today.  I could smell the honey when I walked around the hives in the calm evening.
