Hersonissos Harbour

We left our house about midnight to park my car on a drive I've rented for several weeks in Crawley near Gatwick Airport, whilst we are in Crete. The Asian taxi driver was delightful and I could have spent all night chatting to him instead of the 10 minute journey. He was all for Brexit and his argument for getting out was eloquently put - not a fan of the EU!

The BA plane took off on time at 7.10am and the generous 'hand luggage' allowance of two cases of 23kgs each was well used! We were going to drive but the cost of the three ferries (to make it a 1,000 mile journey instead of two ferries and 2,500 miles), hotel, fuel,tolls,cabin, food, swiss car visa, made it cheaper to fly and rent a car for the whole time.

Our room is in the quaint cretan village of Koutouloufari for the next 4 weeks  (where we've stayed twice) before we move on exceeded our expectations and is a nice home from home.

The blipfoto is a view this afternoon of Hersonissos Harbour taken from our balcony which has super views. I'm enjoying watching the planes over the sea that are taking off and landing at Heraklion Airport about 30 mins drive away.
