Father and child

The image of the father and child had always been a recurring motif in Western Art. And in more recent years it has been fashionable to show strong women in a tender, nurturing light. I must confess that, despite the clear manipulation, I find tears springing to my eyes at the picture of a woman firefighter cradling a baby in her soot-stained arms.
